Look! I made this! I did!
Tonight one of my BFFs, Marcie, and I took a sushi-making class taught by a lovely Japanese sushi master.
For some reason the whole time the teacher was talking I couldn't kick the urge to spend some time with Kim and Natalie.
It took me and Marcie all we had to behave in that class. Everything was just so stinkin’ funny to us. And the odd thing was no one else seemed to have noticed all the funnies. It was puzzling. I believe I recall that phenomenon happening with Marcie when we were in classes together in jr. high. And high school. And college. It was equally puzzling back then.
If you get a chance to take a cooking class at Francis Tuttle, it really is fun. We’ll be going back. And, as stated previously, because of this class I now have a brand new skill. And it’s for life. For life.

Yum! You did good!! OK? How 'bout teaching US? It'd be fun!
The first time I ate sushi I tried a bite of that "guacamole" they serve on the side....turned into a coughing fit! LOL
That's a nice looking sushi plate! How fun! When we move back I definitely want to take some cooking classes.
Awesome! I LOVE taking cooking classes at Francis Tuttle! Worth every penny!
Was that fun, or what?! Your sushi looks awesome on those fancy plates!
I'm still thinking about that class this morning... did that guy really spit his sushi out into the trash?!? I couldn't even look at you at the time or I would've started laughing so hard that I would've been asked to leave the class...
Yummy looks great. Natalie got the video up. It is great!
Have a great weekend!
Robin, I feel your pain. It's comforting to hear that I'm not the only one who had a similar bad first-time experience with that "guacamole." I took a big bite of it and it felt like my entire head was on fire. I coughed, sneezed and sweated for about 20 minutes straight. It was quite a scene in the restaurant. We were on an anniversary date, and Deleise was pretty embarrassed. Hours later, I still felt like my nasal passages had been torched with a flame-thrower.
"For life."
I felt you grab my arm and look fiercely into my eyes as you made certain I knew the depth of your new education.
You are so funny and very crafty.
Hoy bok jing may so kimaki wing bou
"Skilz for life. Can't no one take em from you, girlfriend. No one."
Robin, that would be fun! Let's do it!
Kelse-I love my sushi plate you got me. I should have mentioned that it IS ACTUALLY FROM REAL JAPAN!
Abbi-I agree! I'd love to hear what other one's you've taken.
Marce-Oh yes, he did spit it out. Good times, friend.
Theresa, just saw the video, thanks for letting me know so I could finally feel complete.
David, I wasn't really embarrassed, more like afraid that I was going to be making a trip to the ER.
Amy, you so know how to read my words. I love that about you.
Kim- Hok boy jing to you to my friend, hok boy jing.
That's so cool!! We love to make Sushi here.
I'm with Robin. I would love to learn how to make sushi. I tried once it didn't turn out so good:(
looks like you learned a great skill!
Ok, not a big fan, but I am all about the fun of class with your bff!
Wildly amazing. Can't say I'm a big sushi fan myself (don't hate it, but don't crave it)... yours, however, looks good enough to eat. ;)
The good times laughing with a good friend, now? I would take a sushi cooking class just for that. I had a friend from high school who had this effect on me. I haven't lived close enough to her, however, to experience it much since. About the closest I came to experiencing it was witnessing a couple of ladies fall flat while laughing at each other doing the downward dog in yoga awhile back. I don't think the yoga instructor was impressed. ;)
ooo, pretty. Yes, we missed our video op with you. Look how good you would have done.
Hope you read my sushi post way back. I love sushi so any leftovers I get :-)
here is the link to that sushi post
