Just so you know...

If you don't have the song Rawkfist by Thousand Foot Krutch on your workout playlist, you are so cheating yourself. David, Garrett and Tyler have me hooked.

Although I must have a family member waiting with oxygen for me when I walk to the top of the stairs in our home, I am quite certain that I could run a full marathon with no training if that song was in a nonstop loop through my earphones. I’m not going to, but I’m just sayin’.

On an interesting sidenote, when I was searching "marathon" for a lovely picture to complement this life-changing post I kept coming across pictures like this:

and this

And I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if these scenes come before or after that feeling of euphoria that you runners so lovingly refer to. Anyone?

LOL, my poor son keeps trying to go harder and harder and I just keep listening to his stuff, Breathe into me (Red) is great too.

Now do I submit the comment or delete that last part about Breathe...

I love the pictures. That is so me being dragged around the block behind my dog.

I love the harder music. I went and saw Red in concert last summer and they were playing with secular rock bands. It was great to see the people singing out to the Lord without even realizing it. I know some will end up saved by it. Us Christians have awesome music!!

Euphoria?!? For me, it would be tachycardia followed by hypoxia, asphyxia, myalgia, and finally hysteria... No thanks!!! I have a general policy regarding running, and basically it's -- I don't!

Rawkfist... never heard of it until now... that's some rockin' tune! Just one question though... if I add it to my workout playlist, does that mean I have to work out?

I agree, with the right music, I can work out WAY better and longer! I am usually listening to Skillet :)

I have no idea what Rawkfist is! hmmm?? Does that show my real age?

I know that my hubby had a heat stroke running in the 10K at the Red Bud when I was PG with my first baby! I couldn't find him for 3 hours! They had him in a bucket of ice - 3 IV's - trying to save his life! Praise God!

Our youth pastor talked to the kids last night about a running the race and about marathons. I wish I'd had these pictures last night.
The house (His House) from Robin's blog is on Broadway St. It's Prudential Realty now.
I also love the pictures of your daughter's birthday party. Fun!

Yes, running can be painful sometimes. I'm sure that I will be in pain on Sunday when I run 12 miles in preparation for the 1/2 marathon at the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon. But it can also be exhilirating, good for the soul, beautiful, thought provoking and some good time alone with God. It is all worth it when I know that I am running in honor of my mother who was killed in the OKC bombing. Oh, and by the way, Rawkfist is one of the songs that gets me through each and every one of my runs. If you like it then you will also like another one of my favorites, "Move" by TFK. It totally rocks.
